Alan Iijima

Bio

Alan Iijima is the Development Manager of the Human Rights Center. In this position, he develops and implements the Human Rights Center’s fundraising programs and donor relations strategy, as well as coordinates development-related outreach and solicitation. Alan brings to the center nearly a decade of nonprofit fundraising experience and most recently served as the Development Officer of Muslim Advocates, a national legal nonprofit that seeks racial and religious justice for American Muslims. There, he specialized in campaign strategy, event coordination, quantitative data analysis, and portfolio management.  He currently holds a position on Muslims Advocates Advisory Board. Before his time at Muslim Advocates, Alan worked in the development and community outreach departments of various other nonprofit organizations, including the Palo Alto YMCA, the William S. Richardson School of Law, and Public Allies. He volunteers and is deeply connected with organizations that focus on issues of community empowerment, societal engagement, and the advancement of civic equity and social justice. Alan graduated from Occidental College with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Asian American Studies.
