Digital Evidence on the Cutting Edge: Between Law, Advocacy and Journalism

Panel Discussion | September 22 | 12:45-2 p.m. | Law Building, Warren Room - 295

Speakers: Dr. K. Alexa Koenig, Human Rights Center at Berkeley Law; Sam Dubberley, Human Rights Watch; Carmen Cheung Ka-Man, Center for Justice and Accountability; Brad Samuels, SITU Research

Journalists, researchers, and lawyers are all using digital tools to investigate potential war crimes and violations of international humanitarian law. While each has distinct goals, methodologies, and ethical frameworks, they also complement each other's work. This conversation will address the impetus to operate across fields, the tensions that arise when doing so, and how we can work together to strengthen justice and accountability.
