Andrea Richardson (she/her) is the senior legal researcher for investigations at the Human Rights Center. She is an attorney, Arabic linguist, and open source investigator specializing in international criminal law and international humanitarian law. She has worked on numerous international investigations pursuing justice for grave crimes committed in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and the Occupied Palestinian Territories for organizations including the United Nations, Amnesty International, the Syrian Archive, the Wall Street Journal, and the Associated Press. As a former public defender, Andrea is also experienced in U.S. criminal investigations. Andrea holds a Bachelor’s degree in Middle East Studies from Brown University, a Master’s degree in Anthropology from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies, and a J.D. from the UC Berkeley School of Law.
