Bio
Lisa Reinsberg is an Advisory Board Member with the Human Rights Center. She is an international human rights lawyer whose practice and scholarship focus on the functioning and accessibility of the regional and United Nations human rights oversight mechanisms. Since 2011, Lisa has served as the founding Executive Director of the International Justice Resource Center, which informs and advises advocates around the world. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies at Leiden University and has completed visiting researcher stays at the Hertie School’s Centre for Fundamental Rights and the MenschenRechtsZentrum at the University of Potsdam. Her prior legal experience includes work with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, human rights NGOs in Latin America and Europe, the International Organization for Migration, and legal assistance organizations in the United States. Lisa teaches at Berkeley Law, serves on the Advisory Board to the International Courts & Tribunals Interest Group of the American Society of International Law, and is chair of the board of HURIDOCS.
