Sofia Kooner is the Human Rights Center Investigations Lab Coordinator. Sofia studied Critical Race & Ethnic Studies and Sociology with an intensive concentration in Global Information and Social Enterprise studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. During her time at UCSC, she was an Everett Fellow where she developed a grant-funded socioemotional education program in rural Peru in collaboration with local NGOs. Sofia was also a returning coordinator with UCSC’s Annual Practical Activism Conference where she facilitated workshops to encourage local forms of everyday activism. As the Chancellor’s Undergraduate Intern for the Center for Applied Values and Ethics in Emerging Technologies, Sofia developed and implemented the interdisciplinary CAVEAT Spring Internship program. Prior to her appointment at Berkeley Law, Sofia was an instructor at Crown College at UCSC.
