Focus Areas

The Human Rights Center works across domains and disciplines to address the most pressing global challenges of our time. Often, we bring together institutions and experts that don’t historically collaborate to think creatively and build innovative solutions to solve these problems together.

Over the last 30 years of research and practice, we have been guided by the need to listen to and support survivors, test innovative ideas, draw from multiple domains, use rigorous methods, and collaborate. In that time, our work has assembled into four key focus areas. Many of our programs and projects cut across multiple focus areas, showing the shared throughlines that connect critical human rights issues.
