We are working with students at Berkeley Law to develop novel legal case theories on behalf of Our Children’s Trust to bring cases in jurisdictions worldwide on behalf of youth plaintiffs for human rights violations resulting from climate displacement. These include, among others, impacts to people’s health, livelihood, education, property, and lives. We are specifically developing case studies where climate displacement contributed to sexual and gender-based violence. Our goal is to contribute to the successful litigation against states, both national and subnational, whose failures to stem climate migration led to human rights violations.
